Storytelling of the Mahabharata with Sraddha
Friday, February 13, 2015 6-9pm
The Mahabharata is the great Indian tale of the Pandavas and Kauravas who become rivals over the succession of leadership in the ancestral Bharata kingdom some 5000 years back. Narrated by Sage Vyasa, it is a saga about mankind and the journey of the human being through different archetypal stories within a backdrop of mythological gods and goddesses with magical forces.
Within this epic tale is the literary gem of The Bhagavad Gita which takes place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra as a dialogue between Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu and Arjuna, the consummate spiritual warrior prince. For those who love storytelling, this offers an allegorical way of reflecting upon the human condition. This myth will be told by candlelight in our cozy yurt – an experience not to be missed!

5 Elements Yoga Workshop
Saturday, February 14, 2015 9-4pm
This is a delightful one-day workshop on the Five Elements Yoga practice developed and taught by Ruth Hartung (Sraddha). It has become a favorite during our yoga immersions and yoga festivals for students to experience the five elements in yoga, the basis of the medicine in Ayurveda. Learn about the qualities of the elements (earth, fire, water, air, ether) as expressed through yoga asana, pranayama, bio-energetic exercises and essential oils as presented in the class.
This is considered to be a preparation for a more advanced yogic practice called Tattwa Shuddhi – Purification of the Elements. There are variations on this practice that include different meditations as well as a discussion of the role of music in the class. The music is wonderful!

Fee: $135 Registration: Call 928-203–4400 to sign up or email firstname.lastname@example.org
