100 Hr Children’s Yoga Teacher Training Program

10-Day Program: June 21–30, 2018

7 Centers Yoga Arts is a Registered Children’s Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.

kidpicJoin the distinguished staff of 7 Centers Yoga Arts for our Children’s Yoga Teacher Training! Teaching yoga to kids is a rewarding and joyful experience for teachers, parents, and children. The 100-hour curriculum provides a solid foundation to understanding the changing needs and abilities of children as they develop from newborns to teenagers. Our program teaches students how to observe and evaluate children of different ages and translate yoga philosophy and practices into appropriate exercises for each age group. The training also emphasizes child nutrition from an Ayurvedic perspective and teaching body awareness that will help children to prevent injuries in yoga movement, athletic sports, and other physical activities.

From the experience with Children’s Yoga, you will be able to:

•Build children’s self-esteem and self-image by teaching body awareness and body mechanics in children’s yoga poses.

•Lead children in age-appropriate yoga games, poses, chants, and songs that are fun and engaging.

•Give children skills in dealing with bullying and other conflicts.

•Learn how to manage children yoga classes with ease and positive language.

•Teach children athletes injury prevention

•As part of the Ayurvedic nutrition curriculum, learn how to prepare and serve healthy snacks.

The cost for the course is $1500.  Included in the Children’s program tuition is an in-depth teacher training manual compiled by 7 Centers Yoga Arts. 7 Centers provides yoga props including pillows, blankets, floor chairs, straps, and blocks for student use at no cost. For the Children’s Yoga course, a variety of toys, art materials, and other kid-engaging props will also be available.

Students are required to purchase three textbooks before the program start date: Swami Satyananda Saraswati’s Yoga Education for Children and Four Chapters on Freedom (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras), and author John Douliard’s Perfect Health for Kids: Ten Ayurvedic Health Secrets Every Parent Must Know.
